Charlize, LiLo, Mary-Kate, DeNiro in Dubai
Is Dubai the new Vegas? It certainly seems like it from the looks of the A-listers who are in town for Atlantis, the Palm's grand opening.
Charlize Theron and Robert DeNiro were just two of the celebs at the posh party. Mary-Kate Olsen hung with Mischa Barton during dinner, and Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson hit the carpet with Sam's mother, Ann Dexter-Jones, in tow.
Kylie Minogue performed for a packed house, including Gerard Butler, Janet Jackson, Jermaine Dupri and Lily Allen, followed by a lavish fireworks display. See the snaps for yourself in our Party Pics: Global gallery.
Samantha Ronson: PO'd About Lindsay's Flour Power
Celeb spinner Samantha Ronson is speaking out about last night's run-in with animal rights activists that left fur-toting Lindsay Lohan covered in flour.
Ronson, who was with Lohan in Paris at the time, lashed out about the incident and at PETA, the animal-loving organization, on her MySpace blog:
"I'm pissed at the bag of flour thrown on Lindsay last night. Not because I got powdered down, but because the girl who threw it acted like an animal herself. I take that back, it's an insult to animals to group her in with them, my dog is FAR more civilized than that person."
Antifur Brigade Brings Lindsay Flour
Turns out the Olsen twins got off easy the other day.
Catching Lindsay Lohan on her way into a VIP room at a Paris club late Friday night, an apparent animal lover dumped a bag of flour over her head, shouting, "Lindsay Lohan, fur hag!" as it happened.
While it's unclear whether the 22-year-old actress was clad in or carrying fur at the time, a rep for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals—which named Lohan to its annual Worst-Dressed List earlier this year—cited recent photos of the Mean Girls star wearing the offensive material as a possible reason for the powdery provocation.
Why Don't Stars Party in Dubai Yet—or Do They?
How many stars have been to Dubai? Why aren't there more?
—Allie
I know, right? Here you have a place where the islands look like palm trees, and the palm trees are made of $10,000 bills, and for some reason Jay-Z is still living in States. There's a reason for it, though, and a very good one.
But first and for the record, plenty of famous people recently have headed to Dubai, including:
1. Tiger Woods, who is building a golf course out there
2. The Clooney, who has appeared at the Dubai Film Festival, and...
Lindsay Lohan: No Trouble in Sin City
Lindsay Lohan is on a winning streak.
The young starlet spent the weekend in Las Vegas. She started things off with a party for her new, second line of leggings at Caesars Palace's Pure nightclub, where girlfriend Samantha Ronson was deejaying (above).
LiLo was spotted the next day grabbing a late sushi lunch at Simon at Palms Place. A few hours later, she went to see Madonna's concert at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. She had a second-row seat in front of the stage's runway next to Taye Diggs, who was there with a buddy.
"She was really enjoying herself, dancing around," a fellow concertgoer says of Lohan.
Lindsay Lohan: More Bisexual Than Lesbian
Lindsay Lohan is on the cover of December's Harper's Bazaar looking hot and coherent, without a pair of leggings in sight.
It gets even better inside. The article aims to get to the bottom of LiLo's sexuality. When asked if she'd classify herself as a lesbian, Linds flat-out says no. So does that make her bisexual then? "Maybe. Yeah."
While Linds doesn't name check Samantha Ronson specifically, she does say, "I think it's pretty obvious who I'm seeing...She's a wonderful person and I love her very much."
The rest of the interview is about her turning into a grown-up (getting effed up is way less fun than watching Gossip Girl now) and trying to make her career happen again (like should her album be more Adele or Lady Gaga?). And there's even some sisterly advice for Ali:
Samantha Ronson Goes to the Tape
Lindsay Lohan's gal-pal is camera shy no more. Thanks to an L.A. judge.
After months of balking at the prospect of committing herself to videotape, Samantha Ronson has been ordered to do just that.
The video Q&A is part of Ronson's negligence suit against Martin Garbus, the attorney who unsuccessfully defended her in a separate defamation suit against Perez Hilton.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Kenneth Freeman said today that Ronson had to go on camera, but with strict limitations. Only the parties involved in the litigation, including lawyers and expert witnesses for both sides, will be allowed to view the footage.
Furthermore, any additional copies required beyond those made for the lawyers will require a court order. The date and time of the deposition are also being kept under wraps.
Ronson has sought to avoid being taped for fear the footage would get leaked to the media. For her part, Lohan caved last month and agreed to have her own deposition in the case taped for a similarly restricted audience.
Update
Election Reax: From Hasselbeck's New View to Madonna's Concert to Lohan's Blog
There really is a huge change in America: Elisabeth Hasselbeck just apparently said something relatively nice about Barack Obama.
Just a day after excoriating the Democratic senator for his association with the controversial Rev. Jeremiah Wright, The View's resident right-winger struck a conciliatory tone, calling Obama's ascendance a "victory for our country."
Asked by mother hen Barbara Walters how she was dealing with the landslide victory for the opposing team, Hasselbeck replied, "No one lost today, and God knows I fought hard on the other side.
"Today is a victory for this country," she acknowledged. "The first black president. The first black first lady. The first black family. I haven't felt this good."
Aside from the View crew, celebs ranging from Kanye West to Lindsay Lohan to Brad Pitt to Madonna also chimed in on the election results.
Blog Police: Sam's Wishy-Washy Ways
Hope everyone out there either voted today or is planning to vote, totally last minute, of course. Did Lindsay Lohan's blog post from last night have anything to do with you hauling ass to the polls, we wonder? As most observers of everything pop and political know, Linds encouraged everyone to vote on her MySpace celeblog (tho she's clearly an Obama girl), as well as vote no on Prop 8.
Prolly the smartest thing LiLo's done in a while, except for dyeing her hair back to red. However, L2's blaher half, Samantha, also got into the political spirit. Kinda. Here's how...
Lindsay Comes Out for Obama, Gay Marriage
Lindsay Lohan has taken an eleventh-hour stand.
We don't know whether she's actually going to stand in line at the polls Tuesday (hey, she'll get free Starbucks afterward) or if she's a mail-it-in kind of gal, but we do know that she's all about voting, thanks to her latest blog entry endorsing the seeming man of the hour, Barack Obama, and voicing her discontent for Proposition 8, California's ballot measure to unlegalize gay marriage.
In a post titled "VOTE," she apologizes for not blogging for awhile, and then gives us her get-out-and-vote spiel:
"I cannot say how important it is for everyone to get out there and vote tomorrow... The future of our country depends on it. Just one vote can make such a difference... Vote—because your thoughts are worth it..VOTE—because YOU can make this country a better place...VOTE—because you can.
"PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
She goes on to say "yea" for Obama, including a little smiley face emoticon with her endorsement, and no on Props 8 and 4, the latter of which would require a doctor, before performing an abortion on a minor, to notify the girl's parents at least 48 hours before doing the procedure.
Wow, we knew LiLo liked to blog...but who knew she was so up with the issues?
Lindsay Agrees to Limited Depo Audience
Lindsay Lohan wants only a select few to be privy to her next taped appearance.
The 22-year-old starlet has agreed to allow her upcoming deposition for Samantha Ronson's ongoing lawsuit against her former attorney to be videotaped—so long as everyone agrees to a few conditions.
Lindsay's Bodyguard Drops Lawsuit
Lindsay Lohan may be a lot of things, but a fraud isn't one of them.
The bodyguard who claimed the actress failed to pay him more than $55,000 for VIP services rendered—and whom, it's worth noting, Lohan has maintained she's never even met, let alone hired—has formally dropped his lawsuit against the star.
It's unclear whether David Kim dropped the complaint as a result of an out-of-court settlement or for other reasons.
In any case, the Ugly Betty guest star-no-more is cleared of fraud, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of oral contract and a laundry list of state labor violations, all of which Kim alleged in his April 7 filing.
Lohan and her lawyers, who sought to dismiss the lawsuit last month, were not present in court this morning to mark the demise of the suit, and have yet to comment.
